Currently, 75% of students in Los Angeles live at or below the poverty line with 13,000 homeless and 10,000 in foster homes. These students often lack access to sufficient school supplies, and budget cuts to our school systems leave classrooms unable to provide these children with the necessary items. The burden is being placed on both the students and the teachers to fulfill these needs.
Thinking About Tomorrow’s BACK TO SCHOOL Program addresses this problem by preparing students for education with all the right tools. We provide positive support and backpacks loaded with supplies to LAUSD students, giving them everything they need for success in their education.
As we team up with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), please help us to collect school supplies for the sheltered and foster children enrolled in the Los Angeles School District. These children are no less interested or motivated to learn than their fellow students, but they’re forced to compete without many of the most basic supplies needed to participate in daily classroom exercises. The burden to provide unfunded materials is currently placed upon students, parents and teachers who are already struggling to make ends meet. We want to help these students get excited about education, giving them everything they need to create a base of knowledge and confidence which will lead them to success in their educational endeavors, now and into the future.
We are looking for donations of school supplies, monetary donations, or you may sponsor an already prepared book bag for $25. Please help us make a child successful in school. Any thing you are able to donate is wonderful, and no amount is too small. Donations are tax deductible.
